Filtering capabilities/density
selection
Depending
on the density selected, fabrics featured by SOS can filter
between 75% and 99% of the suns harmful UV rays. This filtering
quality prevents the sun from fading carpets, furniture and
other furnishings. It also prevents the floors, walls and
contents from becoming radiators from the heat that they have
absorbed. These fabrics in conjunction with air conditioning
or good ventilation will keep your structure comfortable.
Color
The color
of fabric selected is important in many ways. If the visibility
is important, the darker colors will provide the best visual
transmittance. The darker colors are harder to see from the
outside and are more desirable on large buildings where shades
could be left at varying levels.
Color is also involved in the comfort
level of the area where used. Light colors will radiate a
portion of the sun’s rays back through the glass thus
providing a cooler interior surface. Darker colors will absorb
part of the sun’s rays and then radiate them into the
room. This difference is not readily detected when the room
is air conditioned or well ventilated.
Matching these two ideas with an
interior or exterior color scheme will create an enjoyable
and visually effective atmosphere.
