3GMermet
fabrics are developed with fiberglass yarns. While a polyester
screen fabric may be sufficient for a normal window there
are other advantages to using a fabric comprised of fiberglass
materials. Fiberglass is safe and a health conscious material
being manufactured from natural minerals (quartz, sand, soda,
and lime) which are non-toxic.
These fabrics are also
dimensionally stable, colorfast, and inherently flame retardant.
Fiberglass does not stretch, shrink or twist nor is it affected
by extremes changes in temperature. All fabrics comply with
NFPA 701 small scale and large-scale requirements and flame
resistance requirements established with the California State
Fire Marshal for products identified in the California Health
and Safety Code Section 13115. To Light 3G Mermet fabrics
perform in the "excellent" category as tested in
accordance with AATCC test method 16 (100 hours) and to Water
3G fabrics perform within the "excellent" category
as tested in accordance with the AATCC test method 107-1981.
