SOS features 3GMermet fabrics

-solar protection fabrics with a view

3GMermet fabrics are developed with fiberglass yarns. While a polyester screen fabric may be sufficient for a normal window there are other advantages to using a fabric comprised of fiberglass materials. Fiberglass is safe and a health conscious material being manufactured from natural minerals (quartz, sand, soda, and lime) which are non-toxic.

These fabrics are also dimensionally stable, colorfast, and inherently flame retardant. Fiberglass does not stretch, shrink or twist nor is it affected by extremes changes in temperature. All fabrics comply with NFPA 701 small scale and large-scale requirements and flame resistance requirements established with the California State Fire Marshal for products identified in the California Health and Safety Code Section 13115. To Light 3G Mermet fabrics perform in the "excellent" category as tested in accordance with AATCC test method 16 (100 hours) and to Water 3G fabrics perform within the "excellent" category as tested in accordance with the AATCC test method 107-1981.

please note that due to the difference in monitors and viewing preferences the resulting colors of fabric samples may not be represented exactly as the original. We have made our best effort to present true and accurate information. SOS™ recommends that you request fabric samples before finalizing any order.

A factor not addressed in the fenestration property report is the "yarn tex" or "yarn diameter". Even though two fabrics may have identical fenestration data and openness factors, a fabric woven with a "finer tex yarn" will provide better visibility outwardly while performing to equal fenestration property results. E Screen fabrics are engineered with a "finer text yarn", providing better visibility.

T Screen fabric has a lighter side and darker side allowing the benefits of both light and dark yarns in one fabric. Mermet's goal in developing T Screen was to control both glare and heat with an internal screen, while still maintaining a view of the outside world. This was accomplished by weaving different colors together in a twill pattern, making use of the benefits of both light and dark colors. This efficient use of color is combined with a choice of openness factors. T Screen transparency is exceptional and enhanced by Mermet's unsurpassed quality standards.
